The Unique Blend is committed to protecting the environment, offering options that are either recyclable or compostable. We offer composting services for facilities that don't already have it in place.
We work closely with local businesses to reduce our footprint, and our coffee roasters we choose to align with, share our passion for the environment, always seeking out new ways to reduce their environmental footprint too.
Sustainability is key to our values as a company, and we hope to help others make a step in the right direction!
Clean Caffeine Campaign
The average coffee drinker produces 25lbs of coffee grounds per year, so we are big on composting those coffee grounds!
Our Clean Caffeine Campaign provides pickup of all used coffee grounds in a clean and efficient way. Currently, we compost about 12 tons of coffee grounds a year. These grounds are composted at recycling centers in Calgary.
The CO2 reductions achieved from composting, amount to not driving a car for an entire year!
100% Wind Power
For the past 14 years, our warehouse has been completely powered by wind energy. This results in an avoidance of 8.24 tons of CO2 annually, equivalent to planting about 200 trees a year!
Being deeply committed to protecting the environment, we are continually looking to improve our practices as new products and technologies evolve.
